Sharia Law divides the Nation

With the introduction of Shariah law in the Muslim North, there has been an almost clear divide within the nation. Despite the poorer development in the North, the north is also divided by a predominately Islam and Hausa and Fulani North. The implementation of Shariah law has increased more conflict as formations of radical groups like Boko Haram fight to transform Nigeria intp an Islamic state or separate from the rest of the nation to become its own separate nation. This is related to politics where the governors of many Northern states are in support of Sharia law and some are believed to be financing the terrorist organization. The conflict of separation becomes more complicated when considering Nigeria's oil based economy where oil the is concentrated in the Southeastern region, Niger Delta. The Federal Republic of Nigeria is a nation meant to be governed upon secular statutes. Boko Haram  has been the root of violence and further ethnic conflict. In the establishment of this movement, radicals around Nigeria have began to act on the same ideologies. Another civil war has become an event of prospect and in some ways necessity for many of these radicals.
